One of the biggest bathroom trends of recent years, gray bathrooms are big in 2018. It’s a new twist on a neutral room design that offers an elegant aesthetic and almost limitless appeal. Gray bathroom designs look great in traditional settings, but are flexible enough to add a less sophisticated touch to contemporary decor. Why not incorporate gray into your bathroom by adding wall paint, ceramic tiles or vintage furniture?

Dark interiors are now a surprising but increasingly popular option for modern bathrooms for a more dramatic look. Interior designers have traditionally avoided using dark colors in the smallest room of the house because they make the space smaller, but the beauty and intimacy of the bathroom as a sanctuary is now being taken into account through color. Use dark blue, gray or even dark red on walls, wall and floor tiles and contrast with natural wood for even more impact.

This year, the “must have” bathroom feature is a stylish black radiator. It’s a fresh and inventive way to add practicality and style to your bathroom while creating a contemporary design that works in both classic bathroom settings and more contemporary ensembles. Black radiators are now widely available from specialist suppliers such as the Designer Radiator Company, who have black vertical radiators (see the full range) as well as many horizontal models.

Patterned tiles are back! Whether you love the intricate patterns of Victorian encaustic tiles or the rich beauty of Spanish or Moroccan tiles, there’s no denying that patterned wall and floor tiles are trending. Use the walls in a simple way to create a feature on your bathroom floor, or use matching tiles throughout the room for a full effect. The popularity of this bathroom trend means you have no shortage of choice when it comes to color, design, size or budget.

Rose gold seems to have gained popularity in the last few years as the arrival of iPhones in the same color has started to make waves. This unashamedly feminine metallic shade is a bold choice that has the power to add glamor to any bathroom. Choose from rose gold bathroom accessories for faucets, lighting, fittings, radiators and more.

Blue, water and sea colors are perfect colors for bathrooms. In 2018, the most popular colors in bathroom design are indigo, rich turquoise and water, alone or in combination. Let the blue/green jewel tone shine against the clean lines of the bold chrome accessories and hardware for a totally contemporary look that doesn’t look dated. Whether it’s walls and floors, furniture and appliances, why not add some dramatic ocean flair?

Different Materials To Give Your Bathroom A Quick But Pretty Update

Gloss has ruled the bathroom wave for a long time, but it can look a little bolder with a simple trendy minimalist look. White doesn’t have to make a room look big, especially in a large bathroom, a matte finish is less messy and looks completely modern. Choose muted shades of gray or light blue that contrast beautifully with modern bathroom materials such as wood and natural stone. Interior designers Katie Scott and Lucy Sargent share their top four picks for stunning bathroom floors. Here’s how you style and shop every look

I love herringbone wood flooring because this classic look can also feel contemporary. Wood is not suitable for damp spaces such as bathrooms, but it is recommended for more general bathrooms. Chevron flooring looks luxurious, and when combined with marble, you get a stylish, modern look; Combined with concrete, you get a mix of luxury and industry. If your floor area cannot afford real wood, there are really beautiful wooden tiles.

I’m heavily influenced by mid-century European style and industrial design, and I love terrazzo floors and walls. There are so many options in color combinations, they add a lot of cool elements and feel great underfoot. Go bold with this look, but make sure the rest of your bathroom is clean and simple to let the terrazzo shine.

Concrete looks great paired with a luxury finish like marble – I love the contrast of the two opposing surfaces. If you want to use colored faucets that go with everything, especially brass or warm metals, a concrete gray palette can be a good base.

Instead of choosing the same floor color and texture for the entire bathroom, wood paneling in the bathroom is a great way to define certain areas. Wood looks great underfoot, is softer than tile and works well mixed with white and gray.

We’ve seen quite a bit of burnt wood in the flooring industry, so I love that there is now a tile option. These tiles have such an interesting texture and the plank shape helps to elongate a small bathroom. I could paint this with a nice crisp white wall tile and a matte black faucet to make it real.

The natural stone look of these porcelain tiles is amazing. There is enough variation in the pattern to give it a natural look, and the dark charcoal color highlights these differentpatterns. This tile can create a very atmospheric master bathroom with a slightly masculine twist; You can also apply this tile on walls. Paired with vintage bronze faucets, this look creates the ultimate haven for grown-ups to escape to.

There are a lot of people out there who really like a fresh, white bathroom. I usually push clients away from white floors because they get too much dirt and lint or hair, but I think this terrazzo tile (above) might be the perfect solution. The fine texture of the stone is not overwhelming, perfect for people who don’t like patterns, and helps hide dirt. It doesn’t hurt that terrazzo is trending right now!

Exposed concrete is very simple and has a beautiful neutral tone that goes with everything. If you want to create a tiled wall, I recommend choosing something simple for the floor, like Tile Max’s Kirastone Gray tiles, so the space doesn’t feel too busy. Although the 450mm square is smaller than I normally recommend, it could be a great option for smaller bathrooms, and the matte finish doesn’t slip either.
