For some reason we ignore the walls as anything but decoration. We want to encourage you to make the most of the wall space in your bathroom. It will help you clean out cupboards and drawers and sweep the floor.
A hanging shelf is the perfect place to display your favorite potted plants. A woven wall basket can become a home for towels. The hook is the perfect place to hang your dress after showering or swimming.

Make use of your vertical space. Find tall shelves, a cabinet or a storage tower and see how much space you can save.
Using a small stool to grab a fresh towel is a small price to pay for a messy floor. Your guests will be grateful to have fewer baskets on the floor. Plus, it’s nice to have a place to store extra towels instead of stuffing them in a closet in the hall. If you arrange all the necessary items well, you should have enough shelf space to add some small boards or fun pieces.
While you don’t want to have more baskets than you need, they are always a great addition to any bathroom. Small baskets can be a catch and stay out of sight. Large baskets can be used as side tables and to store towels. The truth is that baskets will always be fashionable.
We hope these ideas help you. Have your own suggestions? Be sure to share them by tagging @kirklands and stay tuned for the next post in our cleaning series! Solving Andi’s Awkward Living Room Dilemma
Hello! I hope you were able to enjoy the summer sunshine. It’s been pretty hot here so we’ve already had a few days at the pool which resulted in some fun and sunburns!
The house is under construction and I really noticed that when we are not in our own home, our style really changes. I love the airy modern farmhouse with tropical plants and clean features. Kirkland really helped me modernize our space and when we move in with all the pieces we will be ready! Right now I’m at my parents’ house in their newly renovated bathroom, putting together the pieces that AJ and I made (renovation post coming soon).
So how can you renovate a space for less than you’re asking? it’s easy. First, choose a place that you want to liven up a little. Choosing the location you want to upgrade will help you when you walk into the store and know what to look for. If you walk into a store and don’t know what you want to decorate or redecorate, you’ll end up with a lot of random items. For this Refresh for Less Summer campaign, I chose to update my parents’ powder bath!
We decided to add some cabinets to their bathroom wall, creating an empty space for decorating! I made sure to measure the space between the shelves so I knew how high I could get things when I went to Kirkland. In addition to styling the shelf, I also added a beautiful tile leaf plant to the vanity!
Creating An Outdoor Oasis With Kirkland’s
Pine leaf trees and planters have long been my favorite fake plants, but I always struggle to find them at a reasonable price. Kirkland has many options that are reasonably priced and are the perfect fake plant to freshen up your space for summer! Here’s a look at some of the things I found on their site, including this beauty!
Next, styling the shelves (I’ll get to other parts of this bathroom)! When putting together a shelf, it’s all about balance. You don’t want too much on one side and still have a balance with the color. I’ll admit, I’ve never made a shelf before, and everything fits perfectly. I always have to move things around a few times to get them to fit just right.
Now, starting from the top, I decided to add some nice neutral candle holders and pair them with the plant. However, here’s a fun fact about this Kirkland beauty…it’s a kitchen appliance! I already had one with a plant that matched the pine leaf and it matched almost perfectly. I also love the look of terracotta and am excited to use this handle in other areas around our soon-to-be new home!
Moving on to the second shelf, this is where the balance comes in. I used to keep small things on this shelf, but I decorated it with another terracotta planter I found at a Kirkland store (this exact one is no longer online). I added some books to give it a little more dimension and height, then added a brass lantern and finished it off with my favorite Kirkland beads!
