Bathroom Interior Elevations – We are working with the amazing company TDR Woodcraft on this project and have designed some great woodwork for this home – lots of it. (Ah!) Below are some sketches of our mill so you can see where we’re going with all the buildings in the house.
I took a little risk and decided to paint the kitchen, master bathroom and cabinetry a nice greenish gray color – HC-108 Sandy Hook Grey.

Benches, tables, window seats, built-in wardrobes, laundry, boat lockers and media units are painted in a lighter shade of White Dove – OC-17.

We also chose Cambria tables in the house and chose Torquay for the kitchen area, followed by Newquay for the laundry room and bathrooms.
As mentioned earlier, we do this with a gorgeous reclaimed kitchen island made from 100 year old solid reclaimed pine wood that I’m really excited about.
TDR Woodcraft created a beautiful white oak kitchen island and bathroom for our home – he and his wife designed it themselves – really nice – similar request for our bathroom. The tone is very similar to this reclaimed island and would be a nice way to bring that theme to another part of the house and not the stone surface but the wood surface and part of it work more. Furniture We’re also adding solid spruce to the table and chairs in the boathouse, and TDR Woodcraft is veneering our beams since we didn’t have time to wait for spruce. I have to say that I am very excited about everything about this amazing mill – mainly because of the amount of work that TDR has done, but also because of all the memory! vote! Lord knows, with three kids and two crazy parents, you need everything you can get!

After all these years in the industry, I’m still amazed at the many layers and complexity of the process. Some layers are easy to see, while others are very subtle.
Alder Road Project
For example, designing floor plans is monumental and fundamental to project development. They focus efforts and collaboration between clients and their design team. Less obvious, but important, but often forgotten, is the design of interior facades.
To illustrate our point, let’s look at the bathroom design for the Citrus Point project, starting with the layout shown in the “final” floor plan. This place was reduced for… many reasons that we don’t have time to go into right now. During the floor plan design phase, we decided that the space would be best if we used a pedestal or wall-mounted sink.
Now on to the upgrade phase, where we go room by room, space by space, designing, sourcing and detailing. Existing pedestal and wall mounted sinks are found to be the wrong size, wrong style or wrong color.
If this is discovered after construction begins, we will have problems and try to fix them quickly and easily. As we move forward with design and interior facades, this allows us to be proactive and find elegant solutions rather than patchwork fixes.
Sketches And Cad Drawings
See if you can tell the difference between the floor plan shown above and the revised floor plan shown below. The changes are minor but have a big impact on the design and functionality of the space.
The bathroom door has been made wider to give more depth to the vanity unit with sink in option A and the floating counter in option B.
Solution: The individual cabinets for option A and the floating rack for option B are adjusted to the exact depth required for the dishwasher.
Solution: The dishwasher is included because it requires less cabinet space and counter depth.

Option A uses a pendant light and places it above the sink, so no wall space is required.
Now all the beautiful things that everyone dreams of when building a house to order. As mentioned above, I designed the space in different ways. I did this to give customers a choice. If this were your project, which option would you choose?

Warm Words For original floor plans that seemed “out of step” with mainstream trends, I knew I needed an experienced interior designer for a more sophisticated, upscale feel. Professional – his practical mind, attention to detail and masterful spatial planning allow him to understand the needs and challenges of the project and offer him many ways to improve, thoughtful feedback and actionable solutions. His suggestions – especially the sketch layer – were evaluated by our architect who interpreted the suggestions and eliminated the possibility for errors. If you are considering working with Tommy, I highly recommend him. He is a true master of his craft: a talented designer with a sense of detail and the ability to combine architectural planning with modern design. In fact, I was so impressed with him that I will be hiring him for full design projects in the future! Thank you Tammy for your hard work, passion, creativity and expertise – it was truly a pleasure – Nessa, Grand Cayman
