Tiny Bathroom Ideas With Tub

Tiny Bathroom Ideas With Tub – A couple of weeks ago I posted my mom’s guest bathroom reveal and you guys loved it. I know you do. It’s quite a change from the dark green room. (Or is it black? The debate continues.)

Today I’m back with lots of bathrooms – check out my mom’s master bathroom with a new freestanding tub! Two years ago, we remodeled this space to get rid of the basic designer vanity and add a little more of its feminine flair. It was fine for a while, but my mom really wanted to upgrade the whole room. He is not a fan of tile on the floor or in the shower and it annoys him every day. He finally realizes that he is living something he hates and vows to change as soon as possible.

Before we get to the after photos, let’s take a look at the before photos and room design plans.

Stunning Modern Bathroom Ideas To Inspire Your Next Renovation

See “therefore”. This is the room before we did the renovation with the custom vanity. My mom doesn’t like a builder grade vanity let alone an unnecessary double sink.

Here it is in the modified toilet. It’s great, but the rest of the room is itching to replace it.

Isn’t that amazing? Hexagonal tile floors, tile floors throughout and that freestanding tub … holy smokes! It really feels like a hotel when you walk into this place and my mom couldn’t be happier with what happened. Let’s get into the details.

I must say I am jealous of her new free pool. I am a big sauna person and if it was my house I would use it every night! She used to have an old hot tub and we were both very excited when we found out that there was going to be a free hot tub on site. My mom doesn’t even have a big tub, but she takes a bath because of the beautiful new tub!

We went with black wall hardware and it really matches the red and white bathroom tiles.

I love the tub shape because it’s so simple. The vanity has too many details and I don’t want this bathroom to compete. It is quite nice and soft and huge!

I bought my mom a custom tub to use here for Mother’s Day and I think it works great. The wood adds warmth and complements the wood vanity. Plus, it even has room for a wine glass!

Above the sink we chose this beautiful bronze chandelier and it complements the space. It brightens things up, but also adds a bit of glam to the room.

I love how the capiz shell of this chandelier complements the mirror in her guest bathroom. It’s about repeating elements in your home so that everything feels cohesive.

A very clever addition is giving the edge to the freestanding bath. Not only is it a great place to put a glass of water or a bottle of shampoo, but it’s also a great place to have a little fun with art and gadgets. We had the contractor add a piece to the ceiling and paint it the same color as the walls (Benjamin Moore’s “Fog Mist”). At first we were going to make a wooden shelf, but between the sink and the vanity, it felt a little heavy on the wood at the side of the room.

On the art front, we knew we had to go big to fill the space. (The ceiling here is 10 feet!) My mom ordered the Juniper Print Shop print on the left in 24×36 and bought this little piece from Minted in 18×24 We used these cheap black frames from Target. I always say that every room needs a little black, so I’m glad we went with black for the frames.

The plant in the wooden candlestick is wrong because it has no windows, and the other is a pothos plant that usually lives in my mom’s living room. I’m trying to find a good faux draping plant to replace it with and I’ll let you know if I find something that looks real!

Small Bathroom Ideas To Maximise Your Space

Now across the room… the shower! The layout of this place is very similar to the previous photos.

However, we ended up having the contractor move the thermostat and valve to the right side of the shower. That way mom can shower without getting wet! I highly recommend it if you are remodeling your shower.

My mom wants a bench in here (useful for shaving legs) and we’re not sure we have enough space to fit it. Instead of building a long right side wall, we had the workers build a bench with a slight angle. It’s so much fun!

It was another one of my mom’s showers and I love how they went long and wide with this one. She even bought cute vanity bottles for all her items to keep them looking neat and tidy.

And what about tiles? Isn’t it cute?! We had originally planned to use this Chloe tile, but it was back ordered, same problem we had in the guest bathroom, so we frantically searched and found this replacement. In Fez it is called WOW and we use the color “warm glow”. My mom ordered this from her local tile store, The Tile Outlet, and it arrived quickly! Our original tile was a bit gray and this one is warmer and reads more typographically.

I am very satisfied with the result. I think the gray looks really cool here and everything is done as it should be.

For the glass, mom chose a beautiful glass with a black finish. It looks nice and tidy here and there is no need to worry about opening and closing the door. It’s the same as the previous one, which he liked, so we know it will work in the new location.

I have always wanted this custom vanity and now I love it even more. You can see the duct tape from the bathroom running around the room, including over the toilet, as a little backsplash. Because tile is expensive and wasted, we don’t have tile behind the toilet. But you never know.

Best Small Bathroom Design Ideas To Stylish Your Bathroom

Speaking of vanity pieces, I found this awesome MegMade dresser here in Chicago two years ago. I had them fixed and ordered a Lowe’s stone countertop with faucet and sink. We remade the entire dress and it worked beautifully. You can read more about the process in this blog post.

We ended up with most of the same accessories and pieces in the vanity area because they still reflect my mom’s style. Now the rest of the class matches perfectly!

When designing a bathroom, I like to use at least two irons. This adds interest and keeps the piece from being too flat. Here we chose black and copper. We have black hardware in the sink and tub with a black shower door.

Then we have a brass chandelier, a light fixture and a vanity faucet to bring out the warmth of the gold/copper color.

Bathroom Without Tub

Oh, and we even chose a black top for the bathroom. It’s about those little details that bring a space together.

These before and after photos prove that this place has come a long way in a very short time!

Paint Color: Benjamin Moore “Mist Mist” // Wall Tiles (“Warm Glow”) // Floor Tiles // Freestanding Sink // Bathtub Filler // Chandelier // Shower Hardware // Toilet // Black Toilet Lifter/ / Vanity // / American Standard White Mountain Sink // Jacuzzi Duncan Faucet in Brushed Bronze // Safavieh Barrett Gold Sconces // Better Bevel Bathroom Mirror // Vase // Nude Abstract Art // Countertop Silestone Quartz “Desert Silver” // Soap Dispenser and Toothpick brush holder // Wooden bath tray // Artificial plant // Basket // Black frames // Pine print art // Flower art // Toiletry bottles // Towel rack

Next week my mom will be on the blog to share what she’s learned from these two big projects. This was her first time on a project of this magnitude and I know she has a lot of wisdom to share. Oh, and it also throws off the timeline for this project (I think both baths were done in three weeks!) and the total budget for both bathrooms. I know you like to look at numbers. Wait for this…
