Although I haven’t gotten the leather seats yet, I remember this dream seat:

A red palette, light wood floors and modern lighting decorate this traditional Southwestern bedroom… really fun.
You will not lose the shine of gold in the interior. I think I might want this in my life:
Modern French Country Old World Interiors In A Lovely New Build!
I have one of these dining chairs (below) that I use in the guest room. And those lamps in the entrance!!! Perhaps my favorite gilded detail of all. I recognize them as being from Thomas O’Brien’s Elizabethan collection.
In fact, I miraculously found an Elizabethan iron and quartzite chandelier for our new kitchen. Here is the candlestick:
I need to save up a lot of money for these babies! If you think Elizabeth’s collection looks amazing in pictures, gosh, you have to see it for yourself!
It’s the best light I’ve ever had and makes me feel like a queen. Although it is high and expensive, I will not pay full price because I bought the chandelier from the store. I don’t know how anyone can separate it, but somehow I brought this amazing beauty home to me.
Say Ouí To Modern French Design
The gold chandelier was the first inspiration for our kitchen remodel, and I bought the small gold Darlana lantern that I showed you here on this mood board:
Small lanterns are ones I’ve only seen in bathrooms and hallways, but they’re on our kitchen island because they’re not too big.
The classic one lamp and board above is what we are putting in the powder room, I will share that soon if I can get a good picture. I’m a little hopeless when it comes to rooms without natural light. They look lifeless, don’t they?
I’m not sure about the function of the glazed area you see below…beyond it is the shower.

That’s why we sought the expertise of Constance Gennari, the Parisian founder of The Socialite Family, and a French interior designer. Having visited and photographed the homes of hundreds of stylish and discerning Parisians, Gennari has the best tips and tricks when it comes to what makes French decor so desirable.

Although you may be used to American design — from traditional to contemporary, industrial and more — Gennari says American designers have one thing in common with French designers. “There is more perfection in the American style than in France,” says the expert.
Gorgeous Homes With French Interior Design
The French value family heirlooms and intangible aspects: for example, they will not refuse a stained leather chair and will not protect a curved hard floor. The result: a lens that lives up to its flawless.
“The French like to mix antique and modern furniture, while American styles tend to go together,” says Gennari. French designers have no problem putting a modern chair next to an 18th century box or making a modern lamp against a beautiful place. It’s all about the power struggle between time and style.
If you don’t know where to start when it comes to mixing styles, consider your overall goals for the finished space: For example, if you plan to install an expensive antique sofa, organize your other decor around it as a focal point. .
According to Gennari, there are three secrets to decorating like a Frenchman: Know that perfection does not exist, combine different styles and make bold choices. Don’t worry too much about how the pieces fit – as long as the proportions are right and you really love each other, you’ll find your own style through trial and error.

Gennari said: “My style is linked to my personal upbringing. “I grew up with a father from Milan and a mother from Paris. My mother, an artist, had a large collection of Imperial and 18th-century furniture. I took my childhood to Les Puces to interact with customers. That’s where my style comes from,” Gennari said.
To get the look in your own space, incorporate pieces from your family collection into your decor. Do they have a passion for developing eras, collecting maritime memorabilia or textiles from their heritage? Transform these pieces into your own personal decorations to create a sense of history in your home.
Although this may look like your average chair, the discerning eye knows it was designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, one of the most influential designers of the 20th century. If you like a certain style, read its story and meet the designers who created the movement.
“I like the Gino Sarfati lamp, the Oswaldo Borsani chair, the Pierre Poulin table and the Alain Richard lamp,” says Gennari. If these names are new to you, they’re probably a good place to start learning about popular French styles.

, Of course!” The key is to make your home feel different by designing rooms that can serve multiple purposes and a sense of unity.
Find the right balance in your space that allows you to support activities when necessary, but still enjoy any day without worrying too much about spots, stains and marks.
Old staples in modern art? to move forward Think a bright magenta image would pair well with a bold chartreuse bench? Try it out. Want to mix marbled wallpaper with powder blue bedding? why not The things that are clear and not put together often make the interior of the house interesting.
Traditional design rules may advise against using benches and ottomans instead of chairs. They can also lower the curtains that meet the floor, but Gennari recommends sticking to your own rules.

Do what pleases you, not what you’ve been taught is right in the magazines—something Gennari considers the worst mistake. Just as there is a difference between fashion and style, there is a difference between the rules of fashion and personal preference.
If Gennari has to choose between the old and the new, Gennari always chooses the old – so it’s no surprise that Parisian decorators’ favorite shopping spot is Les Puces de Saint-Ouen, a larger-than-life flea market.
“It’s like being in a museum with the right to buy everything,” Gennari said. “One of the magical parts of Paris is the variety of jewelry you can find. For contemporary furniture, Gennari visits La Boutikue Danoise, Le Monde Sauvage, Maison Nordik, Merci and La Tresorerie.
One of the most common mistakes Gennari finds in American decor is “a monomania for one color or style,” he says. Many interior designers have noticed this happening in Mid-Century Modern, which took a wild turn after it was built.
