In a large bathroom, you can use more Christmas decorations to get a festive look. You can add a small tree on the seat or a tall pencil tree in the corner of your bathroom.

In addition to the size of your bathroom, consider the “weight” of your seasonal decorations. If you have a large bathroom but it doesn’t get a lot of natural light, using heavy fabrics for your curtains or Christmas bath towels can make things feel gloomy instead of cozy.

Easy Christmas Bathroom Décor Ideas For A Festive Makeover

Instead of going all out, stay on the simple side with a little embellishment here and there.

To reduce visual clutter, you can put all your Christmas items on a tray or basket on the bathroom counter. This way, the tray can move around in space and everything doesn’t end up in one place.

In this case, you can use a tray to pull out items on the bathroom counter that your guest might need, such as a towel, a small dish of soap, and lotion.

Well, I started the project at the end of June…didn’t finish the bathroom until October, yay!

Festive And Cozy Christmas Living Room Decor Ideas

It’s a small space, so I didn’t want to feel cramped when it was full of decorations for Christmas. I wanted to add some simple touches to the celebration without spending a lot of time and money.

The first place I wanted to focus on was the DIY shelf above the toilet. If you remember, my husband made that shelf out of reclaimed wood. I love it so much and I knew it would make a beautiful decoration for Christmas.

Since the shelf is so small, I kept things small and added fresh cedar stems. I taped them to the sides of glass bottles (found at a thrift store) and let them peek over the edge of the cedar.

My jars are full of cotton balls, q-tips, and bath salts, and I love the contrast of white, wood, and green.

Your Guide To Holiday Bathroom Decorating

To add some extra holiday cheer, I hung the wreath from jars I bought from Hobby Lobby last year. I wanted to add a lot of rustic charm to the Christmas decorations in this space, so I decided to do something fun and make my own ribbon!

I cut pieces from a yard of thrift store fabric for a few dollars and pulled the edges a bit so they would fray. I cut two inch by one inch pieces of fabric. For the crown at the top of the shelf, I went with one inch of fabric and tied it into a bow, letting the excess hang over the end.

Next to the toilet is a built-in cabinet, typical of our 1930’s house, I took more green and mixed it with faux pine, then made my own to hang on the doorknob. More tape in this area adds a nice touch!

Since the shower/tub is the first thing you see when you walk into the bathroom, I tried to think of a way to incorporate Christmas into this area as well.

I decided to add a command hook to the window sill, use my DIY tape and attach a faux cedar wreath to the window. Stone is… you guessed it. Find another store!

Since we rarely use this bathroom (unless we have guests), the wall mount works perfectly in there and I can easily remove it if needed.

For the sink and toilet, I used a storage wreath and placed it above the mirror. It looked a little old on its own, so I decided to stick some new cedar in and around it. I love how it looks on my vanity! And of course some of my DIY tape makes it even better!

The last thing I added was another shop. A real pine rug, on which I lean the towel in front of the door. I love the way it looks and it’s perfect for hooks!
