Then, your 17-year-old son comes in and says, “Mom, what’s for dinner?” Now you are back to reality which is your life.
You don’t have public toilets. Your lot is 5′ x 8′ like most townhouses, ranches, or 2 story homes on Cape Cod.

There’s no room for a free bath or shower (unless you can figure out how to fill the container in the ceiling and figure out how to keep the water in the air – that’s pretty crazy).
Walk In Shower Layouts For Small Bathrooms
You want luxury, style, and low-maintenance features for walking in the rain. You know you’re stuck with a 5′ x 8′ space if you don’t get creative. Can you blow up the wall in your child’s bedroom and make him sleep on the floor? That’s the idea. OK, maybe it doesn’t work well.
The challenge is how can you design a walk-in shower that fits a 5′ x 8′ bathroom in the city (or a small apartment, property, or Air BNB rental)? In this article I’ll give you 5 simple tricks to make your walk in shower comfortable even if you don’t have the huge “Pinterest size” bathroom you want. And to help you out, I’ve added a sixth ‘money maker’ that will make your small bathroom look better, last longer and be easier to maintain (all without breaking the bank).
10 years ago, I visited my sister-in-law Helen and two nieces (Roberta and Allesandra) in Italy. As a bathroom designer, I was surprised at how few bathrooms there were in their homes and Italian homes. My wife’s grandfather (when he was still alive) used a 4′ x 6′ bathroom – complete with shower, vanity, and toilet. Now a little. My niece Roberta has a small flat in Rome (can’t find parking around her house). He thinks he will go to the toilet if the bathroom is 5′ x 8′ (which we think is small in the US). Breathtaking Walk In Shower Ideas
The simple answer is that we don’t “break it down” into small pieces like we do. The bathroom has an open design with no partition between the shower and vanity/toilet. They did this by using a new barrier free wet room tap in the bathroom system. It’s better to walk (or turn) inside. They don’t ruin the room by creating a “rain house”. Cheap shower curtains for free showers make sense whether you’re in Cleveland Ohio, Cleveland Tennessee, or anywhere in between.
Most showers have a wall-mounted shower head that points at a 45-degree angle toward you while you shower. The water won’t just spray towards you – it will also spray behind you. If you only have space for a 3’x 3′ or 4’x3′ bathroom, it will be impossible to fit in a walk in shower. Water flows all over the bathroom floor (you don’t want to wash it).
This problem can be solved by choosing a shower head instead of a sitting head. The wall-mounted angled shower head sends water directly to your head and body.
The only thing that should happen in the rain is water droplets. It doesn’t take much pressure to remove the soap from your hair. You have to get out of the shower when you get back to work in the morning. This problem has been overcome with air injection technology and self-pressurization in the shower head. Check out the great models from Hansgrohe and Moen (no – I’m not a paid consultant for them – but they have some cool stuff).
Small Shower Ideas That Still Make A Big Impact
With a small shower (and small showers) you need more. The main strategy is to use (or create) light sources to open things up. In the bathroom use a mirrored medicine cabinet for a double action BOGO special (buy one get one free). It has more storage space (a big deal in small bathrooms) and looks great indoors. Add task lighting above the vanity. Install the switch window. Create more clarity – as much as you can.
A three-door mirrored medicine cabinet in a modern home can increase storage and make a room feel more spacious.
In the bathroom, add a sense of size and style with a glossy wall light mirror. It comes in bright colors (from contemporary white to light blue and bottle green). It reflects light off the walls and is easy to maintain by cleaning it (painstakingly cleaning the steel joints). These bright colors make the room appear larger.
If you are looking for a more affordable alternative to wall coverings, choose waterproof wall coverings that are topped. Fun – because it’s made with a 2’x 8′ tongue and insert sheet – it’s easy to insert. This wall can make a special statement in the rain of your vacation rental or Air BNB.
