Bathroom With Clawfoot Tub And Separate Shower

Bathroom With Clawfoot Tub And Separate Shower – In fact, when we bought this house, one thing I felt was “missing” was a large private bathroom. We were spoiled for this luxury in all our previous homes. I was worried about how I would feel about the bathroom being a guest room. However, we loved the bones of this house and chose the location and schools in the size of the house and made it work. We made a few adjustments as we moved into this large bathroom downstairs and I found myself quickly adjusting to using the hallway to get to my room. No big deal! When I was given the opportunity to add on to our home, however, I knew that in addition to a large kitchen, my dream was a master bath.

I’m happy to use this space, but I also want to make sure it’s the best use of the extra square footage. In our research, we discovered that a large “en suite” bathroom increases the value of a property. In fact, adding a full bathroom to your home can add up to 20% of its value (assuming the number of additional bedrooms and bathrooms is the same). We actually met with some real estate agents to find out what home buyers are looking for and expect from homes in our price range. This is just for information because we don’t want to do anything about it right away. When considering major changes to your home, it’s always good to consider future resale value, but I’m also a big believer in planning how your family will use it now!

One thing that was important to me to keep after our renovation was the feel of our 1950’s house. With this in mind, I designed a large bathroom with a clawfoot tub in a daisy pattern and beautiful hexagon tiles. I shower every day. I prefer to shower, so a good shower is important for appearance and utility. You can tell by the plumbing that we use this tub for bathing too! There is no space to separate them and this solution works well. I personally wouldn’t buy a house without a bathroom, it’s important to me, but when planning your house, think about how you will use it! Your home should work for you.

The tub and fixtures are from Vintage Tubwith Shower Kit. Cast iron is also an important detail in the bathroom. Vintage tubs will paint cast iron tubs if you want, we painted them black on the outside and legs. I love how it turned out!!! I’ve had a few people message me and tell me that cast iron pans get cold very quickly. I did a lot of research and it can happen with older cast iron bathtubs. Happy to report that our cast iron does not freeze and holds heat perfectly!

I think this tub is so cute!!!!! I water it and Kevin has it, it works great. Pedestal sinks aren’t for everyone, but we both love the look.

Children crazy to bathe in the bathtub! We love the old syringes… looks like wire. Plus, it makes it easy to wash Finn’s hair and clean the tub!

We made two of these shower curtains. I actually ordered a different color but I wasn’t happy with how popular the shower was. So I made this soft white (non-toxic) that we can wash. And he can pull those ring clamps to the front of the tub.

I know I love tile everywhere. Not only does it add some texture to the space, but it also makes cleaning a lot easier! We used this old matte tile with black for the background. I was asked “should the scarf look the same?” Daughter!!! It is old and made to wear. I chose this tile because of the weather and the color matches well with the cafe tile. (We got it from our local America Tile store).

We could not find the desired tile product in stock. I really like the daisy pattern, so we chose to create a pattern by placing white tiles and black tiles for design. It is a labor of love. Getting them to sleep well and look good is difficult and time consuming, but they are all good. I recommend buying them with a pre-installed model if you can. I found them online here (sold out when we needed them). I love the timeless look of black and white! *I think it was more difficult for us because we have heated floors and didn’t want to break the heating line when removing the white tiles.

Of course, I added more plants here. They bring so much life and I love having my plants in the bathroom. For more information on starting or caring for indoor plants, check out these posts.

Your bathroom furniture is basically the furniture of the room. In every interesting picture I put up, the bathroom has wood and a vanity. I chose this double sink with a marble top and used these faucets in black. It was very affordable and gave me the look I wanted! It’s a good idea to look for junk sold as an “all in one” like this one because it can save you money and time! I’ve collected some of my favorites in this post.

I love the natural light in our bathroom! But it’s right outside the deck. So we hung our favorite bamboo shades here, they filter light well and provide privacy from a distance. But if people are upstairs and you want to use the bathroom, you just want more privacy, so we added this black roller shade behind our bamboo shade.

I used these metal framed mirrors and these pendants to complete the vanity look. I’ve gone further on sconces, but this is a really fun way to tie in the decor of her kitchen and I like the light on the mirror instead of allowing for large mirrors.

We used these hooks to hang our favorite Turkish towels (NESTING30 for 30% off). No bathroom (or any room) is complete without a diffuser. I can’t imagine planning without one! Check out all my favorites and how we use them instead of candles in this post.

We have a small vanity in the hall bathroom with no storage so it’s nice to have a place to put all my makeup and brushes!!!! I was so excited to organize everything, we used these acrylic organizers which worked perfectly.

Behind the door under the baskets, there is only one large opening. So I ordered these storage boxes that work perfectly!

Knowing that our master bathroom was going to be black and white gave me the confidence to paint our master wall black – I couldn’t be happier with this decision. This room also connects to our new master closet and I wanted to tie all the rooms together with a similar vibe.

With so many tiles it starts to feel cold, so we opted for underfloor heating. It can get very cold here in the winter. It cost about $2500 (our room is about 10′ x 10′) which felt like a fair amount for something we would never regret.

We went with a boat on the roof, I love the fun it adds! The ceiling and trim are painted in Sherwin Williams Pure White. And we have the best version of this light tool! I’ve actually used it in three places with our add-on, I really like it.
