If your bathroom doesn’t have windows; you’re probably looking for some ways to keep it clean and fresh. After years of looking at my guest bathroom. A fresh coat of paint creates the opportunity for this.
Paint Colors For Small Bathrooms With No Natural Light
Almost every room in my house has at least some source of natural light. But two rooms and two small bathrooms with no windows were particularly difficult to redesign. For example, my guest bathroom is fully functional. But I don’t like living there because the road is closed. If I had more visitors, they wouldn’t either. This may be part of dealing with quarantine, but I’ve had enough and want to resolve this dilemma once and for all.

It took some trial and error, but with some inspiration from Clark + Kensington’s 2020 Color Trends Palette , I think I finally got it. If you’re facing a similar problem (in a walk-in shower or basement bathroom), think of them as a solution to the lack of natural light and a shortcut to a clean, professional paint job. . A more detailed article follows. But the changes can also be seen in the video:
The first thing I noticed from the “before” photos was the yellow color of the bathroom. Soft white bulbs are natural; however, if the room has no windows, you may have to rely on the bulb’s melted color. Soft white won’t work in this room and will leave a hint of yellow.
. I hate that every time I take something out (and patiently wait in vain to install it) the lights find a way to mess it up.
How To Make A Small Bathroom Look Larger
“Why don’t you make the unfortunate choice of one that doesn’t use a standard bulb and not change the bulb to daylight or bright white? They are getting harder and harder to find. I think enough is enough, I not only need new paint but I won’t spend another penny on specialty light bulbs.
I also installed a Bluetooth bathroom fan with an LED light a few years ago. It does go a little brighter than I like – but not bright enough – so that’s a step in the right direction.
Disturbance from soft white light bulbs. I use this light to make painting selections. Can you see the difference just by changing the light? I prefer it. π
The existing walls are covered in grey. The color of the right room itself is beautiful. But as time went on, I realized the color was not right for this bathroom. The lamps, tables and tiles don’t quite match the tunes, so everything looks sickly and dull. Itβs amazing what paint can do to a room. Once I added this color scheme, I stopped making any further creative progress on the design.

I say “partially covered” because the first paint job wasn’t done either. After removing all the wallpaper and repairing the drywall, there was a small patch near the old light fixture. I have finished painting and refinishing most of the rooms but have been putting it off. A word to the wise: If you apply joint compound like this, be sure to seal it with primer
Paint – Although the new paint has a basecoat like the Clark + Kensington range. The main reason is called process.
. Areas of refinished walls like this are dirtier than painted or previously painted walls, so when exposed to light, the paint can absorb and interfere with the glossy appearance of the wall (one spot will look duller or very uneven than the rest). ) You may also want the coat to cover evenly; therefore, primer is best to avoid this and is cheaper than buying more paint and applying another coat.
Ace Hardware sent me a care package earlier this year filled with sustainable, natural products. They also sent me swatches and information about Clark + Kensingtonβs 2020 color trend selections.

Seeing these nature-inspired colors, I knew this would be the perfect opportunity to revisit what K calls βthe bathroom where imagination dies.β π
TIP: I can order paint over the phone and pick it up at Ace Hardware the same day.
Let’s talk specifically about paint. Not surprisingly, as a home improvement blogger, I paint my fair share of walls.
I also tried several different brands and lines of paint (sometimes the same brand but different types of paint). Although most brands contain medications.

Nowadays, I have yet to find a single coat that works in conjunction with a primer, without any color change (like from dark mauve to light cream), without any gloss or finishing. I want two coats; I really need two. However, after just one pass, the coverage was decent.
After the second coat was dry, I stood back and inspected the finish. The main thing I noticed about this particular line – there was a noticeable difference.
Another brand I’ve used in my bathroom before is Clark + Kensington paint. I can’t really explain the difference, but is it…butter? Velvet?
Generally speaking, we recommend using satin or higher-grade materials in bathrooms. But since I’m trying to repair old drywall, I don’t want it to be too high so I can see every little flaw in the wall (that would be really cool). I used eggshells instead. It’s smoother than satin, but still washes well enough for this room (see this post for details on the trade-offs between gloss and other benefits.) It’s a perfect balance. I hope you can see the beautiful texture left on the wall in the next “after” picture in this post.
Bathroom Color Ideas That Will Wow You
The entire room begins with a white opal painting. I like this color. I bought a gallon with the Ace Hardware gift card they sent me, but I only needed half to make two coats in the room. So I believe painting the original bathroom would be enough (I showered in there and never went back to finish the final paint job… I have compared one of the colors to the guest bathroom (without windows). Natural light (in the main) I recommend it works well in both situations, especially since it’s hard to find a good balance with white wall colors (I don’t like too much yellowish warm white. It’s also too white and sterile, not A warm white. )) A pure white that’s still warm enough to offset the cool green on the accent wall without absorbing the blues, greens, or purples.
I also used natural home palettes as inspiration for color choices to create small feature walls. Although I am worried that this room is too small for this kind of painting. I went with my gut and was happy with it. Greens in the Color Trends palette; blues and grays are soft and there are lots of blues and grays. It took me to a distant place, a deep green.
Once the Opal White paint is dry, measure and tape the back wall to the newly painted surface. I don’t plan on keeping the mirror (it was dusty all over the trim part of the frame), but I have a paint can so I’m still looking for a replacement. Because of me?
Keep the vanity square while still; measure four inches from the top to create a drawing line. There’s no particular logic here. I just find this space useful.

Regular painter’s tape will eliminate the possibility of painting from wall to wall, especially in the first few days (and probably until the painting is complete).
