[dropcap]M[/dropcap]he biggest key to home design is putting both function and beauty at the forefront of your design process. The best places have both – they look good and have everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Backyard Decorating Ideas: Easy And Affordable Outdoor Oasis

For this space, that meant creating design plans that fit our long, narrow yard. Fortunately, we had a great contractor help us make this vision a reality. We decided to build a large yard in front of the house, outside the living room. This allows the outdoor space to become an extension of our home with living and dining areas. The floor is the same as our living room floor, so when you step outside it feels like you’re walking into another room.

A small yard extends to our yard, with flower boxes and planters to create a new landscape. We chose synthetic grass because it stays green year-round without maintenance and is very good at absorbing water, which is an added bonus for the environment – especially in dry Colorado.

I wanted the space to have a mid-century modern feel but still incorporate the more rustic elements of Colorado living. For the color palette, I used a unique gray / brown / beige combination to tie in some of the existing elements of our house and make it cohesive. Fortunately, I found a great indoor/outdoor rug that brings these colors together seamlessly through a hexagonal pattern and strong central idea.

The brown tones come from the cedar fence lining our yard and additional cedar boards, planter boxes and wooden tables add to the vibe. Gray is taken from the outside and inside of our house – it is a bright shade that ties the dark gray with our main line colors. The light beige color matches the color of the neighboring house behind the curtain wall and can also be found in our beautiful section.

Small Patio Ideas To Maximize Your Outdoor Space

I chose multi-colored gray furniture with a modern design that helps bring the gray off the floor and into the space. Not only that – these chairs are very comfortable, which is a must-have for a place where we will spend the majority of our time.

To create a focal point, I chose bright blue on the rug and in our beautiful metal legs. These toilets are a great way to organize your space because they come in a variety of colors and their non-retractable design allows them to slide easily under your counter or table when not in use. They have an old matte finish and a gloss finish in some areas that help create a rustic feel.

Limited space meant I had to design creatively to accommodate everything we wanted. We wanted a nice place to sit and relax or watch TV outside, but we also needed a restaurant for all our friends and family to enjoy outside.

To achieve both, I chose a large volume of 9 spaces turning the entire back into a comfortable living space. I chose a round dining table that fits on the wall of the balcony so there are two dining areas, but the chairs can be pulled up a level to create an outdoor pavilion that seats 6-8 people. This versatility means we can enjoy the space in many different ways – whether it is going out to dinner for two or entertaining a group of friends as we would in a football match.

Deck Decor On Our Summer Patio

We also added a side wall seating area to provide additional seating for larger parties or events as well as a large outdoor area for smaller gatherings.

I’m a little obsessed. I installed curtains on the porch and romantic curtains to add a pop of color to the room – so it’s no surprise that the curtains are scattered in my porch. They add drama and a sense of height – adding fabric to the walls is a great way to instantly add warmth and comfort to a space.

They also work by allowing us to stick them to our neighbors’ windows so they don’t feel private when we’re out, but leave it open when we’re not using the space so we don’t block the view or the lights.

Outdoor lighting fans for light and tiki lights are essential. I also added some long tiki lights throughout the yard with good bug repellent and our contractor installed lights on the steps and patio. Tree lighting also helps us have more light on the yard. Floor lamps and table lamps with glowing candles bring beautiful direct light to the living area. I have a plan to turn off the lights between our house and the cedar poles on the other side, but that’s not fixed yet.

One of my favorite pieces in the space is the garden stool, which works well as a raised lamp or can be used as a low table. It has a lot of visual appeal and adds a touch of white to brighten the space and tie the curtains.

Concrete Patio Ideas On A Budget: Your Dream Outdoor Space

Do you have neighbors who live too close or throw away parties and want to keep pests away? Curtains are a great option for those looking for patio decorating ideas on a budget. It is an inexpensive way to create walls and partitions between spaces, while adding a decorative element to your patio area. The curtains are great because they can be adjusted easily, if you want them closed for privacy and shade from the sun and wind or open them to enjoy the view.

Adding light is one of the easiest ways to decorate a small balcony because it usually does not take up much space because it is hung from the ceiling or around other items instead of taking center stage. You can get creative with your own small patio lighting design by using a variety of lighting styles, from rattan pendants to string lights, to create a unique and interesting look. Great lighting is a great idea outside because it draws your eye in, which is important in small spaces because it makes your balcony appear taller and wider. In addition, beautiful lighting will cast an enchanting glow on the living area and create a relaxing place to enjoy the balcony after the sun goes down.

Before choosing furniture for your small patio idea, consider the size of the patio and whether the furniture will complement the space or overlap.
