Best Color For Small Bathroom With No Windows – I didn’t think we would ever get to the point of painting this small bathroom, and yet this week it was time to choose a color and paint the small part of the wall that this room has a window A small room without windows can be a challenge when it comes to choosing a color. Your instincts may tell you, “I want this room to be light and bright, so I’ll paint the walls white!” But if you don’t have extremely perfect artificial light, it won’t look good, it will look dirty.
We wanted it to complement the reflection (you should automatically reject any kind of bright green in the bathroom, unless you want to look sick every day).

No matter what kind of room you’re painting, don’t try to pick a paint color without actually being in the room with the light (and light bulbs if it’s windowless!) colors in it. this. the light that will be contained. After sitting in the bathroom with my swatch books, I narrowed it down to two Farrow & Ball colors: Calamine (a gorgeous, neutral pink with an unfortunate name) and Shadow White (also a warm, bright red).

In the end we decided on Calamine because it went well on the tiles and we knew the girls would like it. After painting the ceiling bright white, we took out the disposable liner and put a fresh one for the wall color.
We’ve talked about our love for HANDi Paint Products before, but they really nailed the design of this pan. It can hold a full gallon of paint, which means less time for refills, and has ergonomic handles on both sides for easy transport. Additionally, it has a magnet where I can easily store the brush when not in use. They really thought of everything.
This room only took Chris 15 minutes to roll and I don’t think he even had to move his feet (haha!), but the carving took me about 45. However, with each hit, I fell in love more and more. It’s warm, soft and inviting and still feels neutral because of those tones. I don’t miss a single window here.
To finish this room (finally!) and we couldn’t wait for the paint to dry so we could start loading up on the finishing touches – mirrors, art, more lighting, a linen closet! We are officially on our own turf!

Before I got my hands on it, it was an empty space that needed color, furniture and personality.
My dad updated this bathroom when he bought the house and the new details are amazing – marble floor, white tile walls, large white tub and modern vanity. It is not a small bathroom and it feels quite large. However, the design is a bit boring.
I knew right away that the white walls didn’t work with the other design elements of the space. So a fresh coat of paint would be my first job.
Expert Tips To Make Your Windowless Bathroom Bigger And Brighter
Since this is a windowless bathroom, choosing the best colors can be a bit difficult. Natural light is very helpful in determining the right paint color.
Contrary to popular belief, bright white is not a great choice for a windowless space, as it can make the room feel cold and dirty.
I prefer a medium or dark shade to create warmer vibes, like the dark green on the bathroom walls in our basement bathroom. I also suggest avoiding colors that are too light or bright, as they can look harsh with only artificial light.
In the next guest room I go with Benjamin Moore, “Boothby Grey.” It is a mid-tone color that reads like light blue gray. I want the color of the guest bathroom to complement this and feel like a peaceful spa-like retreat.
How To Make A Small Bathroom Look Larger
I would choose a shade darker than Boothbay Grade. I’m all about a darker color in a small room to create a cozy and intimate atmosphere. Currently, this space has only stark white, with marble floors and walls. Let’s add some contrast and elegance!
In a windowless room, dark colors absorb light instead of reflecting it. This completely changes the feel of the room! It makes the space more inviting and envelops you in color. However, we need to add ambient lighting to the room (which I’ll talk about in a moment).
Since I knew I wanted a color that complimented the “Boothbai Grey”, I first looked at the other colors on the paint swatch next to it.
I didn’t have a specific paint sample on hand, but I googled the paint code for “Boothbay Grey” and it’s HC-165. You can then search for nearby colors (HC-164 or HC-166) and see if they match your design. This is a neat trick and saves you a trip to the paint store when you’re looking for color inspiration.
Styling And Design Tips To Make A Small Bathroom Look Bigger
I also suggest going to the paint manufacturer’s website and finding the colors they suggest next to your specific color. I did it for ‘Boothby Grey’ and immediately fell in love with the ‘Night Train’ pictured above.
