Freestanding Tub And Shower In Small Bathroom

Freestanding Tub And Shower In Small Bathroom – Two weeks ago I shared the guest bathroom with my mom and you loved it. I knew you would. It was quite a change from the dense green space. (Was he the father? The debate continues.)

Today, I’m back with more bathroom inspiration – a look at my mom’s master bathroom, complete with a new freestanding tub! Two years ago she renovated the space to remove the builder’s basement vanity and add a little more feminine style. It was fine for a while, but my mom really wanted to upgrade the whole room. There was no fan in the tile floor or shower and it annoyed him every day. He finally realized that he was living with some hate and resolved to make a change as soon as possible.

Small Bathroom Ideas To Make Your Bathroom Feel Bigger

Here’s a look at the “before.” This is the place before restoring the habit of vanity. My mom didn’t like the founder basic vanity, not to mention she double dipped when she didn’t need it at all.

Here it is with the upgraded vanity. It was great, but the rest of the place was itching for a change.

Isn’t it incredible? Hexagon tiles on the floor, tiles throughout the room, and an open barrel…holy smoke! It really feels like a hotel when you walk into the place and my mom couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Let’s focus on the details.

I have to say that I am particularly jealous of the new free barrel. I’m a big bath guy and would use it every night if it was my house! We were both very excited when we found out that there was no Jacuzzi tub before and a free tub could do the trick. My mom isn’t a big bather either, but she has a beautiful new bathtub because of it!

We went with black walls in equestrian hardware and it really pops against the faucet tile and white tub.

I love the barrel shape because it’s so simple. It’s such a subtle vanity and I didn’t want this bathroom to compete with that. Instead, it’s just nice and shiny and awesome!

I bought this custom bath rug for my mom to use here for Mother’s Day and I think it works perfectly. Yeast promotes decay in and on wood. Plus, it has room for a glass of wine!

Above the bed, we chose this beautiful bronze chandelier and wow, it adds so much to the space. It calms things down, but brings some sparkle to the whole room.

How To Fit A Freestanding Bathtub Into A Small Bathroom

I love how the hidden shells on this chandelier complement the mirrored headboard in the guest bathroom. The idea is to repeat elements throughout your home so that everything has a sense of harmony.

A really clever addition was adding a rim near the barrel. Not only is it a great place to keep a glass of water or a bottle of shampoo, but it’s also a great place to have a little fun with art and accessories. We just added wood conductor over the tiles and painted the walls the same color (Benjamin Moore “Fog Mist”). At first we were going to wood the shelves, but between the bathroom and the vanity we realized the wood was a little too heavy for that part of the room.

For art we knew we had to go big to fill that big space. (The boards here are 10 feet long!) My mom ordered the print on the left in 24×36 from Juniper Print Shop and then bought the smaller piece from Minted in 18×24. We used an inexpensive blackboard from Target to store them. I always say that every room needs a little black, so I’m glad we went for blackboard.

The candle plant is fake wood because there are no windows, and the other is a pot that lives in my mom’s living room. I’ve been trying to find a good faux drapey plant swap and if I come up with something realistic I’ll keep you posted!

Now, on the other side of the room… the shower! The presentation of this place is similar to the previous photos.

However, after being a contractor we moved the temperature control and valve to the right side of the shower. So my mom can turn on the shower without getting wet! I highly recommend this if you are remodeling the shower.

Also, my mom really wanted a bench here (good for shaving her legs) and we weren’t sure if we had enough space for one. Instead of building a long wall to the right, we build a rowing bench with a slight angle. It turned out so cute!

The shower corner is another must have for my mom and I love how far they went with it. He also buys beautiful toilet bottles for all his belongings to keep them looking clean.

And what about tiles? Is she really beautiful?! We originally planned to go with this Chloe tile, but the order was canceled because we had the same problem in the guest bathroom, so we frantically searched and found a replacement. He called it “fizz” and we used a “warm glow” color. My mom ordered it from her local tile store, Tile Outlet, and it arrived quickly! Our original tile was a little more gray, while this one reads warm and taupe.

I was thrilled with the end result. I think the gray here was great and everything worked perfectly.

For the glass, my mom chose to trim a piece of clear glass with black. It looks nice and dirty in here and he doesn’t have to worry about opening and closing the door. It was similar to a previous setup that he liked, so we knew it would work in the new space.

I’ve always loved how this custom void turned out, and now I love it even more. You can see we had a tile above the shower that ran around the room, right above the vanity, as a little backsplash. We didn’t have tile behind the vanity because tile is expensive and would have gone to waste, but you never know.

Can You Put A Freestanding Bathtub In A Shower?

As for vanity items, I got this beautiful winemaker from MagMed in Chicago two years ago. I will clean them again and then order a stone countertop with faucet and sink from Louis. We turned the entire brewer into a void and looked at the finished product. You can read more about the process in this blog post.

We kept most of the same accessories and pieces in the vanity area because they still reflect my mom’s style. Now it matches the rest of the room!

I like to use at least two metals when designing a bathroom space. This is important and prevents the room from feeling too flat. Here we chose black and brass. We have black hardware on the shower and tub, a black shower door.

Then we have brass chandeliers, bulwarks and vanity necks like the heat of brass heads.

Awesome Ways To Transform Your Small Bathroom

Oh, and we also opted for a black bathroom vanity. It’s all about the details to bring the space together.

The before and after photos confirm that this place has come a long way!

Next week, my mom will take over the blog to share lessons learned with these two big projects. I know for the first time he has accepted the severity of his situation and has a lot of wisdom to share. Oh, and it would also break the project timeline (I think both bathrooms were done in three weeks) as well as the overall budget for both bathrooms. I know you guys always like to see numbers. in the morning…
