Is Vinyl Plank Flooring Good For Bathrooms – If the word vinyl still brings flashbacks to your grandmother’s linoleum floors, then today’s article is for you. Vinyl has come a long way since the early days of industrial production. Now, it can be hard to tell the difference between a good quality vinyl plank floor and a laminate or even hardwood floor, but vinyl plank flooring has a number of advantages.

Vinyl is durable, long lasting, low maintenance, easy to install and affordable. It also has the ability to move into areas that are constantly exposed to water.  When it came to choosing the type of flooring to use for our new construction home, vinyl plank was the most practical and perfect choice for us. Having recently installed gold selection vinyl planks on our floors before we sold our Forest home, we were certain it was the best thing to use for our new home.

I really wanted wood floors in most of our house, which gave me a choice between natural wood, laminate or vinyl flooring. Although under wood, hardwoods are more expensive, more difficult to install, less durable and higher maintenance than other woods. And it’s not recommended for wet areas like kitchens or bathrooms, which was the main reason I didn’t consider real wood or engineered wood for our new home.

Laminate flooring is similar in ease of installation and cost to vinyl, but it is less durable in many areas of your home. Most laminate floors are not completely waterproof, although many laminate options through Golden Selection offer 24-hour waterproofing.  But… I really wanted to use the plank floor not only in the kitchen and laundry room, but also in my bathroom. And… with the need for waterproofing, I decided to go with the practical option of vinyl planks so I could get the floor consistency I really wanted in our new home.

Vinyl plank flooring is also very easy to clean and requires little or no maintenance. Choose gold vinyl plank flooring with a fully waterproof solid core. It is also very durable, and the tile’s hard core allows it to resist scratches and dents. It’s always a good idea to research the exact type of vinyl siding you’re looking for, as not all brands may offer the same level of waterproofing and durability as we found with Gold Choice.

It was also important to me that our flooring be as close to natural wood as possible. The wood grain we used gives our floor a very distinct wood effect. It has a textured texture that is very reminiscent of a hand-scraped wooden floor. We chose a color called Saddlewood from the Golden Choice. I love the light neutrals and variety of patterns in this color scheme, and I really couldn’t be happier with how our floor turned out.

Gold Select vinyl plank flooring also has a 1mm pre-glued deposit, making it more stable and sound than most flooring brands and brands. We installed the same floorboards as above and I was really impressed with how quiet the floor was. No steps from above, which is saying something considering the above is the “boy zone” for our 10- and 13-year-olds and their friends.

Bathroom Remodeling With Luxury Vinyl Floors

We ordered our Gold Selection Saddlewood Vinyl Plank Flooring through Costco and it includes a 35 year warranty. It’s also surprisingly easy to install, as we saw when we renovated the basement of our previous home. You can read all about installation here and in this post (to install it on a tile). I plan to share another post soon detailing my tips for installing vinyl siding on a large area of your home (since we do a lot of installation with our builder partner).

Now we will answer the most important questions that may come to mind if you are trying to decide whether to use vinyl flooring in your next home renovation or new home construction…

The first reason we chose to use vinyl siding for almost all of our home construction. Long life! Vinyl flooring is very durable and mostly waterproof. This makes it a great choice for a busy and active home full of kids, pets and foot traffic. It also makes it a great choice for any room in your home.  Vinyl plank flooring also has a great combination of strength and flexibility. This means it feels soft and comfortable underfoot (and on your back). It is also cheap, easy to install and easy to maintain.

Vinyl floors are usually more durable than laminate floors when it comes to standing up to pets and children. They don’t clog or sink easily, especially when your dog is walking around, which was always a concern for us when we had hardwood and laminate floors.

Luxury Vinyl Flooring Is Perfect For Bathrooms

Although it’s unlikely (what?), vinyl siding has the same durability as stone or tile, without the wick lines to complement it. The durability and waterproof properties of most vinyl floors, when combined with the appeal and authenticity of vinyl flooring, make it a leading competitor in the flooring market. In fact, vinyl plank flooring has even become one of the most popular types of flooring for newly constructed homes.

Take it to the top One of the biggest concerns homeowners have about bathroom tiling is whether or not it’s waterproof. With luxury vinyl flooring, you’re in luck because it’s 100 percent waterproof. While you may worry about splits, leaks, and moisture damaging laminate, engineered wood, or real wood, water is not a problem for vinyl flooring. But its ability to withstand moisture is not the only reason why this affordable and stylish option is a good idea for the bathroom.

Installing luxury vinyl tile is easy and quick. Plus, you don’t need messy mortar or grout like you do with ceramic or porcelain tile. And laying vinyl plank flooring like wood is easier than cutting real wood and moving it around tight spaces in the bathroom.

Another bathroom advantage is that vinyl floors don’t freeze like natural stone. Because they stay close to room temperature, you’ll feel comfortable walking barefoot on your luxury vinyl floor tub. It is not as hard on joints as natural marble or other stones. Soft materials give more when you walk on them, so your knees and ankles will thank you.

Can You Put Vinyl Flooring Over Tile Or Other Floors?

Colors and installation instructions are complete only. And because it can be so affordable, homeowners can install floor-to-wall LVT and LVP and still stay on budget.

Real wood can be scary in the bathroom, especially if you have a free standing tub where heat and splashes are likely to happen more often. However, luxury vinyl planks like the one above are a homeowner’s dream. The 7×48-inch vinyl planks have a beautiful brown-gray finish with wood-like knots and grains. Even if you use a really black bench when you enter the bathroom, it will not damage your LVT floor.
