Decorating A Master Bedroom On A Budget

Decorating A Master Bedroom On A Budget – It’s been a while since I shared my room on my blog (here) and the reason is because I love it so much. I still do but have recently decided to add a little color to the mix. Blue comes naturally to our home, I also wanted more blue in my master bedroom. I thought today’s Beautiful Bedroom Tour Blog Hop hosted by Tammy of Pink Peppermint Design would be a great way to share new updates and tips for decorating your bedroom on a budget.

You probably wouldn’t be able to tell by looking at the picture of our room that we live in a small semi-detached house. You can read more about the true reality of our tiny house and what I’m dealing with here. To me, our room is proof that no matter where you live, you can create something that makes you feel comfortable. I didn’t stay here the whole night but I can definitely say that our room was like a mini vacation for me. Isn’t that a nice thing to say? Everyone should feel like this in their bedroom. Am I right

This is my favorite rule and applies to every room in your house. Pick your favorite bed and go from there. It doesn’t matter where it came from… thrift stores, Craigslist, eBay, yard sales… now don’t panic or fret if you already have a set and don’t have the budget to buy a new one. , In this case, try transforming the table top by painting it and adding new hardware (my dinner table is an inexpensive Ikea dresser with updated hardware. Click here). Or you can transform your bedding by painting or reupholstering it.

Apart from this, do not buy any set from the shop. Personally, I just use white cover sheets and a soft blanket (from Ikea). I’m from Germany and don’t use sheets on my bed. I know it’s a preference, but I don’t want a blanket that you can’t remove from the cover to wash and need an extra blanket to protect the blanket. But even if you use sheets, using a simple blanket is a great way to be flexible with your decor and within your budget. I found this cheap duvet cover here for under $30 and it’s soft and perfect.

I wrote a post a while ago showing how my room has evolved over time. Over that time period, you can see how the key parts have remained the same (click here). For example, the chaise I bought about 18 years ago was a brown corduroy fabric. I don’t know why I love chocolate and that fabric cats find disgusting. Their claws got hold of it and tore at it like crazy. So I reinstalled and it’s as good as new (click here). I didn’t do it all myself, just some of it.

And even if you don’t have the money to invest in larger items from the store, you can still find some essentials on Craigslist or at auctions. Important things can be achieved on a limited budget!

My aunt gave me that chandelier when we got married and it originally hung in our dining room.

I grew up a little near the ocean in my bedroom but I never imagined a plant would grow so big. Luckily our bedrooms have cathedral ceilings and come out in the summer. Can you believe that banana trees are fake trees? It remains here throughout the year and looks great. I’ve had it for 15 years and I still love it. So even if you don’t have a green thumb, you can still add fake plants, they won’t be put off. (See similar here or here).

To me, this is the most obvious tip. Stock up on cheap pillows and some great Ikea rugs and transform it. H&M, Target, Etsy, and HomeGoods always have great options that won’t break the bank. My nightstand drawer is full of pillows and I can change them all as I want without buying anything. As you can see in the picture, I have taken more courses. I bought a new blue pillow (click here) and a waist pillow (click here) but that’s all I bought for this space. Chaise cushions used to be in my living room, then in the dining room and now in my bedroom.

I collect things from all over the house, very simple. The basket and toss are in my dining room. The chaise and leopard pillows are also from my basement.

I painted blue artwork a long time ago and you can check out some of my recent art tutorials here and here. It’s really not hard to start building your own.

For me, no personal space is complete without my pets. As a kid, it was my dog and now it’s my cat. They make this room so comfortable for me and I can’t imagine this place without them. I know a lot of people don’t feel the same way I do, but I had to add this to the post to show you that you can live in a beautiful place with your furry friend. Are they damaged? Yes, they do that once in a while but that’s okay. Even my kids get into trouble sometimes and I still love them. This is life! Infants and fur children are always welcome in our rooms.
