Studio Apartment Decorating Ideas On A Budget
Over the years of decorating my spaces, from my bedroom at my parents’ house to my dorm room to my apartment, I’ve gathered a few tips, tricks, and secrets that make decorating my space easy and fun.

I hope this also allows you to breathe and realize that yes, your site can look amazing without having to spend a lot of money. It’s possible, I promise!
One of the most important steps (and my favorite) is to create a vision board; This is very important because, like everything else in life, you don’t want to go blind and then end up crashing.
I like to start with a vision board so I can clearly see what colors I’m vibeing with, what style catches my eye, etc. If you’re stuck forever and don’t know which direction you want to go, make a vision board. Even if you don’t think the inspiration photos you’re using go together, you’ll eventually see that they do (99% of the time).
Everyone has their own when it comes to making visual boards. Personally, I want to make mine on Pinterest. It’s the easiest method I’ve found and they always have all the inspiration I could ask for and more.

After making my look on Pinterest, I copied and pasted the photos into a Google Doc, printed them, cut them out, put them on the board, and voila, that’s it. Plus, making a vision board is very therapeutic and motivating (can you tell I love those?).
As I said before, there are many ways to make a vision board. For you, the best way may be to cut out photos from magazines, use Instagram, or re-upload them to Tumblr (they have really good photos).
If you don’t want to crop the images, you can also make a visual board on Pinterest, but don’t print it! You will also be able to get a pretty clear idea of the style you are looking for.
My lord, this advice is very important. In fact, if you have some space, stick with light colors! I promise you’ll be able to pull out your dark, drab colors when you have a big house, but light colors will make your entire space feel 10 times larger than it really is.

Plus the color is not expensive!! This is something you can do in a weekend that will transform your space. Dark colors take away all the light from rooms, even if they are small. Now, that doesn’t mean you can only wear white if you love blue; there are many beautiful light blues that will look amazing. Stick to your taste, try to make walls and large objects (such as furniture, paintings, etc.) as light as possible.
The rooms are small and you don’t want to create an uncomfortable claustrophobic feeling. This is a great idea when you’re on a budget because I generally say don’t buy more than you need. Less is more. I repeat, less is more.
Too many details can do more harm than good. Simple and minimalist is best for an apartment and I promise you that when it’s all together, it won’t look plain! You’re trying to put the puzzle together, and if everything is incredibly complicated, you’re going to get really tired.
The curtains!! Basically, they do the job. I love adding curtains to my space when I want a little spice and feel a little pretty. Actually, if you want to feel put together, add curtains lol. They will make your site look and feel 10 times more expensive.

Pro tip: Hang your curtains as high as possible. This will create the illusion that your apartment is larger than it really is. Here is a video of how I hang my curtains: click here.
I appreciate that good luck is culturally acceptable (just kidding haha, what is “cultural” and that hasn’t stopped me before). Thrifting is amazing because you can find one-of-a-kind pieces that will make your space look completely unique. Plus, the prices are amazing for the most part.
If you start saving you will need to put your creativity limit on, most of the pieces are amazing but you may need a quick DIY. But I promise you, at the end of the day, you’ll be so grateful you splurged!
If it is not necessary, please do not buy it. There are no ifs or buts. If you’re on a budget, stick to the essentials and in your free time you’ll gather the perfect pieces for your space.

In today’s world, we are constantly bombarded with new content and things to buy all the time. We can feel so overwhelmed that it seems like the only way to release that tension is to fill a space. However, this will make you feel more claustrophobic and tired. Like I said before, at least!
I agree with the last point, but I try to leave room for growth. It is not necessary to drop the ship’s cargo all at once. Your body will evolve just as you do, so leave some wiggle room in your space so you can both grow together!
If you want to make your space appear larger without breaking your budget, add mirrors. Basically, they work. You won’t believe the difference they make. I highly recommend it!
It’s time to get crafty!! There are many DIY things you can do. They will save you money and give you the look you want. If there’s something expensive you’ve been eyeing, see if you can!
Pieces Of Furniture You Need To Furnish A Studio Apartment
When you have visitors over, you want them to walk into your space and think, “Wow, this is totally [insert your name]’s house!” If you don’t think that’s the case, try to figure out what you can add to make the room a little more personal.
I love the gallery wall and it’s not too difficult to make. Find your favorite photos, choose some pretty frames and put them on the wall at home!
Different closets will tie your space together in ways you could never imagine. Try mixing the textures of your pillows or adding a blanket to the end of the couch. These little details will do wonders for your site!

Studio Apartment Decorating Ideas: Big Style For Small Spaces
Get help with weekly home renovation updates, our favorite home search, and exclusive emails sent right to her inbox. Decorating a studio apartment can be a difficult task. Wall, floor, and counter space is valuable, so every choice you make should be thoughtful and impactful. It’s very easy to cross the line from “cool” to “dirty” with such a small area to decorate. So how do you furnish your small living space in a way that reflects your unique style while also ensuring that your studio is functional and tidy? We’ve put together some living room decorating ideas to guide you in the right direction, based on some of the most common questions you have when considering how to decorate your living room – play on a budget.
What is one of the most important questions when furnishing your studio apartment according to some of our McKinley Apartments residents? Choose the right furniture. Big mega looks may not be out of the question, but you still want practical and stylish furniture to create that homey feeling.
Do you fly alone in your studio or do you live with a roommate or roommate? Start with the minimum number of seats needed so you can both sit together at any given time. From there, take a realistic look at the level of exercise you get (or expect to get) on the field. Accept that having enough seating for a 15-person house party may exceed the footprint of your space.
In general, we recommend a small sofa that can comfortably seat two or three people as a last resort, a small but stylish extra chair (even without arms) for additional seating, and a small bistro-style table with two dining chairs. Extra reading chairs can be stored out of sight when not in use and taken out when you have guests.
Studio Design Ideas
Be as realistic as possible when decorating a studio on a limited budget. It’s easy to think, “More seats, better.” But crashing into chairs and table edges while trying to cross the field will soon be unpleasant enough to make you reconsider.
