What Color To Paint A Small Bathroom

What Color To Paint A Small Bathroom – A few months ago, I helped my dad decorate the second floor of his house. Before I got it, it was an empty space that needed paint, furniture, and people.

My dad updated this bathroom when he bought the house. The new touches were great: marble floors, white tile walls, large white bathtub, and modern vanity. It’s not a small bathroom, it looks very spacious. However, I feel that the design is a little plain.

I quickly realized that the white walls didn’t match the other design elements in the space. The new paint job will be my first job.

Popular Bathroom Paint Colors Our Editors Swear By

Since your bathroom doesn’t have windows, choosing the best paint color can be a little tricky. Natural light can be very helpful in determining the appropriate paint color.

Contrary to popular belief, bright white is not the best choice for windowless spaces, as it can make the room look cold and dirty.

I like neutral or dark tones that create a warm atmosphere, like the dark green paint on the basement bathroom walls. It is also best to avoid bright or shiny colors as they can look harsh with artificial light alone.

In the next room is Benjamin Moore’s “Boothbay Gray.” It is a neutral color, like a greyish blue. We wanted the colors in the guest bathroom to complement this and give it a calming, spa-like getaway feel.

I chose a darker shade than “Boothbay Grade.” In small rooms, prefer black to create a cozy and intimate atmosphere. Now, the floor and walls of this space are pure white. Add variety and elegance!

In a room without windows, dark colors absorb light instead of reflecting it. The impression of your room will completely change! It makes your space more attractive and surrounds you with color. However, you will need to add some ambient lighting to the room (we’ll get to that in a moment).

I knew I wanted a color that would go well with “Boothbay Grey,” so I first checked the paint swatches next to it for other colors.

I don’t have a specific paint sample on hand, but when I Googled the paint code for “Boothbay Gray”, I found it to be HC-165. You can then find a color that is close to you (HC-164 or HC-166) and see if it works in your design. This is a cute trick that saves you a trip to the paint store when you find color inspiration.

We also recommend visiting the paint manufacturer’s website and looking for suggested colors next to your specific color. I created this in ‘Boothbay Gray’ and immediately fell in love with ‘Night Train’, pictured above.

Choosing the perfect paint color can be difficult, but we hope these little tricks will help. Read this post for more tips on achieving the perfect shade.

Paint colors are rarely chosen so as not to leave paint stains on the walls. Here are some tips for this important step in the paint color selection process…

Here are the colors I tried. I painted Benjamin Moore’s “Boothbay Gray” over it (the color the adjoining room would be painted in) and made sure the main color matched this color. I think all three colors go well with the blue “Boothbay Gray.”

The first time I painted these colors I had no idea which one would be the winner. Everything looks great in the space. But once I got them, I realized which one I liked best.

The color of the bathroom vanity won’t change, so I don’t want to choose a color that matches it. I’d rather it be a little darker. I like the middle color (‘Brewster Grey’) the best. The green on the top is a very harsh color next to the gray of the dresser, while the bottom looks very muddy and gray next to the coolness of the dresser.

I think “Brewster Gray” is the best color for the walls in this room. It has shades of blue and blends well with the elements of the adjacent room. It becomes the perfect background for other elements of your website.

Now that we have all the colors in place, let’s move on to planning the design of the rest of this site. Maintain all major elements of the environment (vanity, mirror, toilet). This is my idea of adding warmth and sophistication.

In the photo above, you can see a long blank wall on the right side of the room. That towel bar doesn’t work (sorry Dad!) so I recommend removing it.

So let’s add some treatment to the wooden wall. You know I’m a big fan of them. Because I’ve created almost all of my styles at home. We carry shiplap, picture frame molding, board & batten, beadboard, and more! I knew the boat would be like a farmhouse for my dad, so I took turns painting the frames, the boards, and the battens.

Since the attached guest room has a deco feel, I think a picture frame would be perfect for this bathroom. A great way to add interest, life and character to a small space.

I think I made a chair rail and a picture frame under the wall and pasted wallpaper on top. However, given my large head and the nooks and crannies on the tub walls, I decided that going all the way to the ceiling was the best option in this room.

Now my father’s bathroom is lit only by a cold lamp. It’s not flattering and that’s one of the reasons this bathroom is falling apart.

Every room needs at least 2-3 light sources, so we recommend adding this gold wall sconce above the mirror. For more information about my lighting rules, check out this blog post. When in doubt, add lighting to spaces with little natural light.

I aim to mix metals and recommend having 2-3 metal finishes in the room (as well as lighting). This blog post will explain why.

Now, the light fixtures are all silver chrome, which is really cool. Adding a touch of gold to your bathroom will warm up the space. We’ll keep the faucets and shower fixtures, but we’ll be adding new gold towel rings, gold vanity handles, and lots of gold accessories. These small changes create big changes.

In the source list below, you’ll also notice that I choose all of my gold hardware/accents from the same retailer, West Elm. This is because bronze and gold come in several different tones. We recommend always purchasing from the same retailer to ensure color and finish match.

Now that the main elements are set, it’s time to create some fun things like jewelry and accessories. Wet, shiny floors call for beautiful rugs. I would choose something that fills the space and adds color and texture to the floor.

I’m also really excited about the wooden towel rack that fills the long wall space. Wood is a smart idea for adding warmth to a cold space. This allows you to warm up your space with a little extra effort.

You can also choose a wooden shelf instead of a toilet. I love the curves and rattan is great too.

We ordered all the furniture for the guest room and attic. Professional painters also started work in this room! I’m working on his DIY project for the ceiling (I’d love to try the new wood wall treatment!), so I’ll keep you posted on how these pieces fit together.
