Designing Comfort In Small Spaces: Modern Bathroom Ideas For Singapore Living

Whether you live in the mountains, are lucky enough to be on the coast, or live in the beautiful central plains, take inspiration from the nature around you.

“When we designed this bathroom, we were inspired by the beautiful ocean that the house sits on,” says interior designer Marissa Nelums of Glasshouse Interiors. “We used blue and white, and added gold to add a touch of luxury. The backsplash tile was the first part of the space. The gold finish was unlike anything we’ve seen before, making it the right thing to create this space. It’s a beautiful home.”

Find out what you like about your bathroom and make a plan to reinforce it like Nelums did in this area.

“When we designed this space, we wanted to emphasize the dramatic height of the ceiling,” says Nelums. “We chose a classic black and white color palette and gave it style by using geometric tiles. The unique tile gave this space a wow factor guaranteed to impress any guest.”

Modern Minimalist Style Bathrooms

Whether you’re creating a small powder room or a large bathroom, adding contrast to the space will help make a statement and add interest to the room.

“This bathroom doubles as a pool bathroom,” says Nelums. “Since we are close to the Gulf of Mexico, we wanted to design with water in mind. We used a beautiful blue vanity as the base of the space and white tile to create contrast.”

Even if your budget doesn’t allow for a complete bathroom renovation, you can improve the look by using smart design choices, as designer Joy Williams of Happy Design Studio does here.

“We spent most of our budget on paint, hardware, new wood flooring, lighting and backdrops,” explains Williams. “Our client was amazed at how much we could do with so little and we were able to keep the quality consistent with an additional makeover that included adding a bedroom.”

Stunning Bathroom Trends Our Designers Can’t Stop Thinking About

A black and white color palette never fails, especially in a bathroom. The team at Hibou Design & Co. Montreal increased French influence in the area.

“We chose a hotel theme with black and white tiled floors that greet you every morning, en français,” explains designers Korina Khamis and Eugenia Triandos. “Black carpets and hardware give a nod to this clean white palette. This rich color palette is warmed by rustic wood cabinetry. Modern-industrial lighting rounds out this cool look.”

Between toiletries, cosmetics and other towels, bathrooms need a lot of storage space. If you’re lucky enough to have the space, a built-in vanity can help streamline your skin care routine. If not, get an article from Hibou Design & Co. and add a built-in ladder (or towel warmer, if you like) to hang clean clothes.

Looking for a quote? A freestanding bathtub is the answer. Hibou Design & Co thought outside the box of white porcelain to add a beautiful black and white bathtub that helped renew an old house.

Inspiring Bathroom Design Ideas

“Considering that this house was built in 1902, my main goal was to create a modern twist on traditional tiles,” explains the Hibou Design & Co. team. “I was able to tile the floor in a modern herringbone style and use black and white hexagonal penny tile to incorporate some of our French traditions. This is a fun bathroom!”

There’s something about a traditional country bath that always works. In this space by Julia Alexander Interiors, rustic features like wooden beams and ship paint blend seamlessly with the classic bath and accessories for a cozy space that won’t go out of style.

If you have a good attitude, you should show it. In this space by Julia Alexander Interiors, a modern yet traditional bathroom enhances the surrounding countryside with a large window and soft color.

Vanities are often admired, but floating vanities add another level of creativity to a space. In this bathroom by Julia Alexander Interiors, fresh air flow in the vanity freezes the space (and makes it easier to clean the floor).

Classic Bathroom Design Ideas For Enduring Luxury — Lord Decor

A vegetable garden is like decorating a home – feel free to decorate it as boldly as you like. In this half bath by Gray Hunt Interiors, the beautiful green wallpaper gives a modern twist to the chevron print and provides a lot of features in a small space.

It may seem like a small decision, but don’t let the color of your grout fool you. Color can completely change the look of your space. From classic options like white or black, like this one from GreyHunt Interiors, or more fun options like light pink (yes, really), take a minute to think about your options.

Metals like shiny silver, gold and bronze can make a space look luxurious. In this bathroom by GreyHunt Interiors, gold sconces are paired with bright gray wallpaper and brass fixtures for a real escape.

Wafers between showers and baths? Why not all? In this stunning bathroom by GreyHunt Interiors, a beautiful granite bathtub complements the black and white shower perfectly.

Bathroom Design Ideas: Minimalist And Marble Clad Bathrooms Prove To Be A Crowd Favourite

“This bathtub doubles as a bench in this luxurious bathroom,” explains designer Sallie J. Lord of GreyHunt Interiors.

You don’t have to stick to one design element like wallpaper or tiles in the bathroom. Follow GreyHunt Interiors’ lead and combine the two for a unique space that feels even more luxurious.

An all tiled bathroom feels very fresh and clean, especially with this white and neutral colored floor tile.

“Why does the tile stop in the shower?” designer Sallie J. Lord of GreyHunt Interiors explains “We carried and played with the tile to add interest.”

Bathroom Ideas: The Most Intense Interior Design Trends For 2022

“I love this design because it combines traditional and new styles,” explains the team at Braxton Cole Interiors. “I added a very traditional Louis 16 mirror, a vintage style sink and a tile floor… mixed with an unexpected round marble wallpaper and pops of modern yet eclectic art.”

By using light colors and a large mirror to reflect light, designer Jenn Pablo of Jenn Pablo Studio was able to transform a dark room into a light and airy space.

“The goal of the place was to completely transform a dark place like a water lodge into a high and peaceful place,” explains Pablo.

While big ticket items like tubs, showers or vanities need attention, don’t forget to consider amenities.

Bathroom Interior Design Planning

“This powder room is about that,” says designer Anne Sage. “Tons of different colors and patterns are built to create an interesting and dynamic space – but thanks to the neutral palette, the house still manages to feel like a cozy place. My favorite way is how we cut the back yard. The built-in curved glass is a fun way to make a piece of a big box store (in this case CB2) feel custom and unique!

“This bathroom is located in an industrial area in downtown Atlanta,” explains designer Justin Q Williams. “My client wanted to bring an element of luxury to this industrial space by incorporating modern lighting and hotel appeal. I really enjoyed lighting the space and incorporating luxury elements to enhance this bathroom.”

As we mentioned earlier, bathrooms are the best place to play with design. Color, pattern and design are welcome. In this area by Michelle Gage, a bright example of blue and white tiles is outstanding.

While we love a bright white bathroom, there’s something about a dark space we just can’t get enough of.

Stunning Modern Bathroom Ideas To Inspire Your Next Renovation

“In contrast to the bright and clear palette often seen in bathrooms, we prefer to look at the mood, especially in the second bathroom or powder rooms,” explains the team behind Bespoke Only. “By washing a small area in a deep hue
