“When we designed this bathroom, we were inspired by the beautiful beach where the house is located,” says interior designer Marissa Nelums of Glasshouse Interior. “We used a color palette of blue and white and then added gold for a touch of luxury. The back was the starting point for this room. The gold layer was unlike anything we had seen before, making it the perfect material for a fairytale house.

“When we designed this space, we wanted to emphasize the incredible height of the ceilings,” says Nelums. “We chose a classic black and white color palette and gave it character through the use of geometrically shaped tiles. “We maxed out our budget for paint, light fixtures, new wood-effect porcelain floors, lighting and splash guards,” says Williams. “Our client was pleasantly surprised at how much we were able to achieve with so little and managed to keep the aesthetic consistent with the rest of the larger renovation, which included the addition of a new bedroom.”
