Finished this room (finally!) and couldn’t wait for the paint to dry so we could start filling in the final pieces: mirror, art, lighting, canvas closet! We are officially home!

Before I got my hands on it, it was a space that needed color, furniture, and character.
When we bought the house, my father renovated this bathroom with new touches: marble floors, white tiled walls, a large white sink and a modern shower. It wasn’t a small bathroom at all and it looked really big. However, the design is a bit boring.
I knew right away that white walls didn’t go well with the other design elements of the space. So the new colors will be my first order.
Tricks To Make A Small Bathroom Look Bigger
Since this is a windowless bathroom, choosing the best color can be a bit difficult. Natural light is very helpful in determining the right color.
Contrary to popular belief, plain white is not a good choice for a windowless room as it can make the room feel cold and dark.
I prefer neutral colors or dark colors to create a warm atmosphere, such as green in the downstairs bathroom. I also recommend avoiding light or bright colors, as they can be harsh in artificial light.
In the next room, I’m going with Benjamin Moore in Boothby Gray. It’s a broad color that reads like a pale blue. I love the color of the guest bathroom as it complements, relaxes, and feels like a spa.

I prefer the shade darker than Boothbay Grade. I like dark colors in small rooms to create a cozy and intimate atmosphere. Today, the space has a fresh white paint, with marble floors and walls. Let’s add contrast and elegance!
In a windowless room, dark colors absorb light instead of reflecting it. It completely changes the atmosphere of the room! This place makes you more attractive and colorful. However, the lighting around the room needs improvement (which I’ll talk about in a moment).
Knowing that I wanted a paint color that complemented Boothbay Gray, I looked at the other colors in the paint next to it.
I didn’t have the specific color on hand, but I looked up the color code for “Bootbay Grey” and it was HC-165. You can search for a nearby color (HC-164 or HC-166) and see if it matches your design. This is a great trick and will save you a trip to the paint store when you’re looking for color inspiration.
