Back Deck Decorating Ideas On A Budget – When the weather finally warmed up, we spent a lot of time on the back deck. Over the past few years, our backyard habitat has continued to thrive. In 2019, Kyle and a few of his friends tore down our old deck and built a new one. In 2020, when the pandemic started and we spent more time at home, we decided to invest in new garden equipment and extend the porch of our house. Over the years it has become our favorite place to eat and entertain in the summer.

Back Porch Ideas To Upgrade Your Outdoor Space
Our deck is very small and can accommodate 4-6 people. It’s the perfect size for dinner for another couple or two. We love to grill and cook pizza in our outdoor Ooni oven. And we play cornball in the backyard and cards at the dinner table. Some of our favorite deck elements are sectionals, patio umbrellas, planters and grass.
I bought this shirt from Walmart.com in 2019 (similar style here for under $900). We’re on our fourth summer and it’s been great. It was delivered straight to the door and mostly assembled. Walmart and Wayfair have a great selection of patio sets and sectionals for under $1,000. Don’t forget to read the review! This square dining table from Wayfair is simple, clean and elegant. I was able to put it all together in less than 10 minutes. It’s pretty light so I can turn it into a deck. Sometimes we put it in front of the couch and pull out the other chairs to create more space.
These Wayfair outdoor dining chairs are modern, durable and lightweight. They can also be stacked. I ordered a pair to try and immediately ordered another set. I also ordered a parasol from Wayfair and it is one of the focal points of our patio. I can lean back to cover the sun while I read. I chose a red and pale pink striped design and I think it adds so much edginess and charm to our back deck. Wayfair has a large selection of patio umbrellas in a variety of colors and prints, so find a design you like.
Flowers and plants are an easy way to add color, greenery and life to a space. Over the years I have collected small pots and planters for my back deck herb garden. To start collecting flowers, visit your local home depot, garden center, thrift store, or antique store. I bought these trays full of flowers from a local nursery. This is my first year making rail pots and I love that they add height so all my plants aren’t in pots on the ground. Next year I plan to use the jars again, but fill them myself. A flower basket is a must-have on the back deck. I hang ours on a simple iron frame.
Backyard Decorating Ideas On A Budget
I kept to the big pieces (sofa + dining set + umbrella) and sprinkled in the details (cushions + plants + garden stools) to make the space my own. Anthropologie, One King’s Way and West Elm were my favorites for both room inspiration and small accents that add personality to a space. If you have a specific idea of what you want and have time to browse, you can find great deals at Amazon, Walmart, and Wayfair. My tips for decorating a small space? Add color with pillows, live plants and accents. Create a focal point, whether it’s a patio tent, dining room or barbecue area.
