The aesthetic I decided on is very neutral, bohemian and minimalistic. I love the Scandinavian-bohemian trend and wanted to include accessories like toes, hyacinth baskets, cuddly pieces and pampas.
Let me show you the furniture you already have in your bedroom. Spoiler: a lot of it is from IKEA. We love IKEA furniture for its simplicity and affordability.

It is very easy and affordable compared to many of the toe shades on the market. Some of them are very expensive.
I really like how they turned out. Now we no longer have a simple shiny white shade, but rather a beautiful bamboo shade.

As you may have noticed, pampas are everywhere these days, especially on Instagram. I love the bohemian vibe they give off.
So I bought 10 pampasons in bulk and also a smaller bunny tail on Etsy. I am really very impressed with the quality and softness of this. This Etsy shop sells such pampas at affordable prices. I highly recommend it.
I think you can get two vases of large pampas grass. I used about half of it in the bedroom, so I plan to use the rest in the living room downstairs.
I also varnished my pampas grass because I read it is recommended to varnish it for longer durability and to prevent hair loss.
Rustic Bedroom Ideas For A Cozy Country Retreat
Some key items I add to my decor are hyacinth baskets, which I love. And now I’m trying to incorporate more rattan pieces.
This is a little decoration that I like and use here. This beautiful toe mirror, small basket from IKEA or Primark.
The best part about the PAX wardrobe is that you can adapt it to the space you work in on the IKEA website. This way I got something that fits perfectly in my bedroom space.
And they were only £30 each. Considering how good this nightstand looks, we think it’s a good price. I have not seen anything of similar quality at this price.
How To Style A Bedroom On A Budget
Our white bedding is textured and was bought from Primark last year. I prefer to be honest. Primark offers very nice bedding at very good prices.
Simple white bedding from IKEA is also available. I often switch between one and the other. I love the simple white basic bed.
I found a nice mustard colored pillowcase at IKEA. And at just £1.75 it was an absolute bargain so I couldn’t pass it up.
The house pillow was bought from Home Base some time ago. Finally, for the bed I use a chunky braided cord I bought from Primark last year.

Let’s say you decide to redecorate your bedroom. Before you start buying random parts for your makeover, take some time to plan.
Look around for furniture you like or things you can reuse. You can always paint the furniture in a different color. Or spray paint decorations that are no longer usable.
That way, when you start the shopping process, you won’t end up buying random things that don’t suit you. You can plan to cut back on impulse purchases a bit.

When I was trying to decide what we wanted to change in the master bedroom, my husband and I both agreed on one thing: we wanted the room to be brighter. We also agreed that we liked the wall color and wanted to work with it (anonymously via Behr at Home Improvement). So I thought the white furniture would look good against the dark gray walls. I decided to buy the IKEA Hemnes chest of drawers line because it offers many storage solutions. I just updated it a bit with new hardware from Amazon. It’s the perfect touch to make it a little cute. These simple changes made a huge difference to this space.
After the cabinetry was updated, it became clear that the curtains needed to be updated as well. It’s always like that, isn’t it? ! But I’m so glad I finally fixed one of my own decorating mistakes, which was pulling the curtains too low and making the walls look shorter. In this room I wanted to emphasize the height of the ceiling, so this time I hung the curtains high. See the difference!

And then it gets much better! Don’t you think so? If you notice that the curtains are different, you are right. This is pure white, not the cream color my mother gave me. Since she didn’t want any more curtains, I thought this would be a good opportunity to correct a decorating mistake and hang those curtains higher.
The next update was just between windows. When we first moved into our house, my husband and I often talked about wanting a small living room in my husband’s house so we could sit and enjoy a nice cup of coffee in the morning. But after living with this setup for four years, I can honestly say I’ve probably only sat here once or twice. This seat is clearly not working for us.
I decided to update this place by moving a Target desk I bought a few years ago and turning it into a sleek console table. By shopping at home, I was able to quickly create the look I wanted and my space felt more open. I’m still looking for the perfect little cushion seat to put away, so I can say this space is completely done. But just like when we’re looking for a bed frame, we don’t rush to buy, but rather persistently find the perfect item.
